On the Rachel Maddow Show, Barack Obama stated, “One of the things that I`m excited about is to transfer what we`ve learned from this campaign in using technology, into government. I mean, there are huge areas where we can open things up, make things more transparent.”1
Random House defines transparent as open, frank or candid.2 By this definition, making closed door deals, that seem to include some sort of bribes, would not constitute a transparent government. Dennis Kucinich voted in favor of the Reconciliation Act of 20103 dealing with health care only after receiving a ride on Air Force One at taxpayer expense and the invitation of President Obama.4 To contrast this, he voted no to a similar bill proposed by Democrats in 2009.5 Unlike politicians, voting records do not lie.
I would encourage everyone in the Tenth District of Ohio to seriously consider any opponent who runs against Mr. Kucinich in the 2010 elections. His own comments from November 7, 2009 indicate that he felt “insurance companies are the problem, not the solution.” He went on to say “By incurring only a new requirement to cover pre-existing conditions, a weakened public option, and a few other important but limited concessions, the health insurance companies are getting quite a deal.”6 There may be additional concessions in the 2000-plus page bill that was just passed, but how could Mr. Kucinich possibly know this considering members were given a mere 72 hours to read the entire document. For the most part, as it was explained to the American people, the bill contains very similar legislation to the measure that Mr. Kucinich voted against last fall.
As for today’s match in the race to be named “Idiot of the Year”, the winner is Barack Obama. Even though all of the facts are not known, since despite Mr. Obama’s pledge for a transparent government was a bold lie, it is clear that Mr. Kucinich is merely a puppet in Mr. Obama’s plan to socialize America and turn our country into yet another communist Utopia. And for those of you that might be sarcastically-challenged, yes I was meaning Utopia with all of the sarcasm I could muster.
